Crime update 12th June 2008.
Please find below the crime
report for the Baswich area:
- In between
16:00hrs on 28/05/08 - 14:00hrs on 29/05/08 criminal damage was caused to
a car windscreen parked in a driveway at an address in Weeping Cross. The
vehicle had no forced entry and no items were stolen. It is unknown what
was used to cause the damage. Scenes of crime attended and scene enquiries
have been conducted. To date no offender has been identified.
- Overnight from
31/05/08 - 01/06/08 damage was caused to a door at the rear of the Bodmin
avenue pharmacy. No items were stolen from inside. Scenes of crime
attended and scene enquiries have been conducted. To date the offender has
not been identified.
- Several reports
of antisocial behaviour in the area have been received from local
residents. The majority of complaints have been in relation to youth
gathering on Yelverton Avenue / Falmouth fields. These complaints have
been in relation to the large volume of youths, noise complaints, underage
drinking and litter.
Since the last meeting I can
report back that the local neighbourhood policing team have been involved in
the following:
- On 22/05/08 a
joint operation was organised between trading standards and the police.
Test purchases were carried out at local off licences. I am pleased to
report back that none of the local premises sold alcohol to the underage
test purchasers. The operation was organised in response to the complaints
of underage drinking that have been received.
- I am pleased to
announce that two local youths entered and won the 'High Sheriffs
Challenge'. This was a project aimed at reducing crime, the fear of crime
and makes a stronger community. They won a prize of £300 which they hope
to use to set something up for the community. They have now been put
forward by the High Sheriff of Staffordshire to the national crime beat
awards. Local officers worked with the youths to assist in their project.
