Matters Arising from Previous Meeting:
Minutes agreed for January, but unavailable due to computer error.
Feedback from Yelverton Fields Sub-committee:
Shown 3 separate plans for field upgrading. Budget down to £16000 – not
enough to make much difference, but can be used to tidy up the site. There is
no disabled access as the slope up the gully is too steep plus 2 grids are
dangers at top of gully. There may be other funding available, but must be
applied for. Sue Francis to phone various depts. on our behalf. Wendy Hall to
be approached.
Presentation from Wildwood
Youth Workers – Lia and Marcus:
Lia and Marcus work within the Wildwood Christian Fellowship Church.
Marcus does youth work within the Walton school youth club year 7. They are
also in contact with youths who congregate at Somerfield and Bodmin Ave. shops.
They are trying to gain trust and getting to know their needs and hoping to
tackle the problems that exist. Marcus feels he can gain trust by meeting them
at the youth club and on the streets. He feels the youths are looking for their
place and identity within the community. Some feel they are tarred with the
anti-social behavior so behave anti-socially. Lia and Marcus looking for our
support and input with their work within the community.
Police Update:
Low crime within the area.
People advised to get ID from doorstep sellers.
Phone calls from Scottish Power legitimate.
Neighbourhood watch to be
revamped.
The Staffs police section 30 to move on people being anti-social deemed
successful – but opinion to be taken from Bodmin shopkeepers.

youths from the Wildwood Christian fellowship for the fun run coming up in the
